My name is Emily Woolworth and I am very excited to be a part of Hogan Cedars Elementary! We have an amazing and busy year ahead of us. Before I get to know all about you, here is some information about me.
Teaching has always been a passion for me. I have a love of learning and I hope that my students will grow to love learning as much as I do. By making our classroom a safe, fun, and structured place for my students, I hope that they will enjoy coming to our classroom and learning something new everyday. I believe that all children are different and require specific attention and affection for them to flourish; as George Evans wrote, Every student can learn, just not on the same day, or not in the same way.
I received my BA in Education with a minor in Psychology and an endorsement in Reading from Western Washington University in 2002. After working for a few years in Oregon, I attended graduate school at Concordia University and received my Masters in Education with a focus on Early Childhood Education in 2010.
I began teaching 14 years ago and have taught in the Reynolds School District, Evergreen School District and Gresham Barlow School District. I have spent time in Kindergarten and First Grade. This is my 1st year at Hogan Cedars
While not teaching, I spend time with my husband and our young son.
